The webmasters who continue to fail are those who don’t take the time to make their visitors know and like them. These website fail to sell anything to their visitors because they don’t understand one of the fundamental concepts of affiliate marketing. These webmasters fail to presell. These webmasters never learn how to presell their audience.
When visitors first arrive at a website, the site is unknown to them. It’s the job of the website to turn itself from a stranger into a friend in the eyes of the people that visit it. They will follow the recommendations of a friend more readily than they will fall for the hard-sell approach from an aggressive webmaster. Put very simply, preselling is everything that you do to create an open-to-buy mindset in the minds of people.
These things can consist of – and should include – providing information that helps your visitors solve their problems. This type of helpful information should be provided for free. What can happen, then, is that as your visitors come to think of you as helpful and trust you as a result of the help that you and your website provides, they will become more open to listening to your suggestions for other affiliate products that you recommend to them.
The first step is to find what your visitors want – even stronger is to find out what your visitors need.The idea that people are scouring the internet searching for products to buy is a common misconception. They look for solutions to problems or at least the information that can lead them to the solutions to their problems. Get into the following mindset as you are creating content for your next website article or blog post. Instead of writing a blog post selling time management software, come up with solutions to how your visitors can more effectively manage their time and create an article chock-full of free information about how they can do this.Instead of asking your visitors to buy their next laptop through one of your affiliate links, compare and contrast the pros and cons of different laptops and make this information freely available on your site. If it is truly beneficial, people will buy their next laptop from your website.
Give your website visitors what they want before you ask for anything in return. Once you gain the trust of your audience then you can recommend items that can help them even more.But do everything you can to help your visitors first before ever asking them to buy a product or service from your site.
After you’ve provided valuable information that your audience finds helpful, you have taken the first step of establishing a relation of trust between yourself and your visitors.Continue to establish trust bewteen you and your visitors by only recommending products you find worthwhile and your affiliate earnings will increase. Once an internet marketer understands how to presell effectively, they will become much more successful.Preselling involves hard work, but it is really the cornerstone of any successful affiliate or internet marketing business.
