How to Instill Urgency in Your Opt-In Email Marketing

When you let your audience know that they need to act soon or the offer expires, you create the sense of urgency that turns prospects into customers. It’s needed because people will inevitably delay when they can, as that’s human nature.

Have you ever wondered what makes some listbuilding efforts become highly profitable, while others never make it?

This can even be seen in your own list, as some email converts better than others.  Several factors could of course be at play here, but the one we are going to focus on today is urgency and how to effect your opt-in email marketing campaigns.

Urgency is a key factor in successful campaigns. You need to let your customer know that if they don’t act right, then they will be missing something. In opt in marketing, you must convince them that if they do not act RIGHT NOW, they will not be getting the same offer as they would get in a few days, hours, or even minutes.

One major way to emphasis the urgency is to make it known that after a certain amount of your product will be sold, then the price will increase. You can do this by having a list on your squeeze page with the quantity available listed and then the price. For example:

·      10 Copies at $7

·      25 Copies at $27

·      50 Copies $47

·      All further copies will be sold at the full price of $97

This technique ensures that people who may put off buying the product for a day or two realize that if they wait, they will have to pay more. On the squeeze page, I advise marking through the first set of quantity and price. That way it will appear they have already missed out on the best deal, but if they act now, they will still save money on the offer.

This leads me into my next tip for increasing urgency. The words you choose to use on a squeeze page or a mailing from your audience. You should be sure you use powerful words in your copy that imply urgency. Limited time offer, limited quantity, act now, don’t miss this special offer. for example.

It’s a VERY effective strategy to use the Inner Circle or VIP mentality when communicating to your audience, because this backs up the sense of urgency. Further words like pre-release, Inner Circle, Time Limited, Etc are great here

Let them know that you only have a limited amount of your product, and you are making it available to them first. Always justify with a specific reason.

As long as you have kept all your list content useful, your customers will trust you to give them quality products. So this is were the trust and rapport work for you ten-fold. If you release the right amount of content at the right times when you make a special offer, your list will jump on it.

The sense of urgency you establish through your writing will let them know they have to act right then to get what they know will be a groundbreaking product from a trusted friend.

If so, then you are probably really frustrated when you review your Google analytics and see all the opportunities you have lost. You have tried Search Engine Optimization and  paid directory submission, but there is another solution, with a some small changes in your approach you can you can make much more sales out of your traffic? First, do not look to get a sale on the first visit. This is a common error which online marketers make when it comes to getting new customers. No matter how great your offer is there are always going to be people who will not buy the first time around. If you simply try to sell everyone in the beginning you can be assured that you are not going to end up with many conversions. The second thing is to be sure that you do not have too many options for your customers. It means that you have a sign-in form and provide some free info in return for their let’s say e-mail. Finally, make your call to action clear and visible. Tell people what to do and never assume that they know anything. This means that you don’t just put a submit button on your page, it means that you also tell them exactly what to do with it. Become an expert in your field means that you are assuming that people will do just what you say. Be this person when it comes to your visitors.
Take each of these principles into account in regards to your site and use them to increase your conversions. In this way you will increase your conversions dramatically.

This is just what it sounds like you are trying to capture the reader with a good lead to your page. This is really the most important section of your squeeze pages. This is the point page for your squeeze page.So it must be captivating.Find the right words in your heading that is exactly what their looking for.By having them there already it shows they are interested already.Dont lose them with a terrible headline.Start with larger font in your headline.Make it red seems like red is a bolder color.Once your reader gets through your headline keep him there with a little more info in your sub-heading.This will make them want to see if you really can have the all important solution to there problem by signing up to your list.Now we come to the body of your squeeze pages. Now that you have there attention thus far  it is time to let them know that by opting-in they can have the solution to there problem.Since this is one of the reasons you have squeeze pages. It would benefit you to know how to increase your opt-in rate. First off have a good heading . Draw their focus on your product with a heading that applies.Design your heading so that it is exactly what the reader wants. Dont forget to give something valuable and usefull in exchange for there e-mail address and name.  But make sure you can deliver…. dont lose your credability by not being able to do what you said you could.

Put your opt in box next to your video asking them to sign up to your list.Flowplayer is an open source video player for the web which allows you to host any video you develop on your own server.It can be downloaded for free.Just follow instructions to upload your videos live on the net.Don’t forget you still have to have a catchy headline that gets there attention and arouses curiosity. Try using these fonts Georgia,Tahoma,and Impact.And last and very important the opt in box.Tell the viewer exactly what to do next.Enter your full name and e-mail address right now for instant access to the secret!
