Internet Marketing – Looking to Start an Internet Marketing Business and Cannot Decide Which One?

The Internet can be one big black hole just waiting to swallow up unsuspecting passers-by; I should know I was lead down the wrong road on more than one occasion when I was a newbie to online marketing. I remember coming online all wet behind the ears and keen to join the other thousands of new comers in our quest for the elusive Internet dollar. I found what I thought were some really great business opportunities and decided all I had to do was part with my cash, join a couple of these programs do what it said on the front page and bingo, instant millionaire. I could not have been more wrong…
The sad fact is very few advertisers actually use the internet as it was intended, and distributing information to those searching for it. Paid advertising at the end of the day, are ads that are placed on content. Free advertising is that very content, and that is where you want to be. You want to position your advertising to fall into that ‘content’ category and you will enjoy a long and prosperous career of free internet advertising.
I know what you are asking…how do I put content on the internet? Well there are several ways. The most obvious is creating a website, and providing content through that. This is the most obvious example. The not so obvious examples are blogging, writing articles, hub pages, squidoo, product review and so on. The bottom line is you should constantly be adding relevant and high quality content to the internet that relates to what it is you are selling. By providing a steady stream of content you naturally attract visitors and buyers to your pages and products.
The internet is built on the distribution of information, not the distribution of products. The sooner you understand this the faster you will begin to make money with the web. There are so many marketers that post videos on youtube blatantly pitching their products and services, writing splogs (spam blogs) and basically littering the internet with their affiliate links. This is low quality content and low quality content does nothing to drive real visitors. Using this kind of content you only fool the search engines temporarily before you get the almighty “ban” which effectively ends your online marketing career almost immediately.
Free advertising is better than paid advertising but it does not provide that immediate gratification that we as humans so much desire. It is a long term project, a goal. But if you work at building internet content daily, you will see your level of influence rise as well as your bank account balance increase, because you are using the internet the way it was meant to be used.
Next let’s take a look at creating software. Obviously this is a very broad niche. It is also very technical. Even though you can pay somebody to write the software for you, you still will need a base level of technical expertise. But if you have some available funds you can have some quite amazing software built for you
So in summary you need to evaluate the resources you have available to you and then find the best business model that fits your resources

Sometimes what many people find quite hard to swallow, is the pitfalls of home based internet business building from scratch, can be prolong and difficult to get established. The Truth is there are NO FREE TICKETS to online business success.
Most people who are looking at starting an online business don’t have the time, money or inclination to learn all that is required, to know, build and operate a successful online business. But instead, would just leap in to start an home based internet business from scratch thinking they will quickly start bring in the cash.
So is it a fantasy that I can make money online? No and Yes…
I’ve read, viewed and attempted many countless hours of training, videos and courses of all sorts of different approaches to internet marketing. The fact of the matter is, many people’s perception for starting an online business is more dream than truth. To be truly successful, you must be prepared to fully commit the time, money and passion. It is only then that you will discover the secrets of online success.
The fact that most people want their cake and they too want to eat it of course. Expecting that it will cost 29.95 or $49.95 or $97 or maybe even several hundred dollars, while firmly believing that this is all they need to spend to build a successful online business.
There are literally hundreds of headlines with offers to suck people into their sales landing pages, to where the copy writing seduces the mind, dulls the senses and suddenly ‘Klick – another sale – another online business “pseudo owner” has been made.
There are usually six basic combination’s that newbies online are searching for when looking for an Internet Business by which to strike it rich. This should really be called the “X” Factor to look at when establishing an computer home based business’s online appeal.
- All the set-up work is included, and can be running and online in “X” number of minutes.
- Provides a guarantee of your money back, to earn “X” amount of dollars quickly.
- You won’t need to do a thing, the “X” amount of website traffic and internet marketing is all done for you.
- Teaches you all the “X” marketing secrets that only a special few know about.
- There are “X” number of special trainers/mentors in the program who are available 24/7.
- Get your money making “X” website/blog, already fully SEO optimized.
To be Matter of Fact… You Need Both Time and Money.
You will pay your dues in both TIME and MONEY, which is necessary to be successful in starting an internet business from scratch. There is no ifs or buts about it, there’s no getting around it, period. Just because the emotional language written in the sales page is so compelling, don’t expect to circumvent this law of business.
In most cases a successful online entrepreneur often spends months building his / her website with great content, uploads video/audio, writes articles, researches keywords and builds an email list of potential customers before even beginning to promote a product or service.
Many people look for a simple business model they can replicate fairly easily, rather than become so involved or committed in home based internet businesses. Many internet infopreneurs don’t even make enough money to live on for the first number of months.
I know in my case this was a truth I had inherently understood, that internet business building is not an overnight process but rather a timely, building process. Like they say, ROME was not built in a day, a fact many people forget when starting off with dreams of building an internet empire.
Now, of course, I’ve discovered “the earn as you learn” methods of progressing, but at the time I was personally focused on the learning, while building a solid foundation from which to lay the seeds for future internet success.
You see, to be successful in any online business is from competent marketing and advertising, or in the offline world of business – using a good salesperson to talk one-on-one with the customer.
Also, it will remain ESSENTIAL in developing consistent methods for introducing new prospects and clients, NO MATTER the type of internet business you have. Online, of course, “the door” refers to the entire internet browsing community.
So, spending both TIME and MONEY is part of the FORMULA FOR SUCCESS ONLINE. The secret to profitable home based internet businesses, is the ability to find the proper balance between these two. And realistically, each of these in balanced combination will win the day over.
