Achieve Leverage for Your Home Business by Re-Purposing Your Content
by admin on Oct.01, 2009, under General
According to the Wikipedia dictionary, leverage is “A force compounded by means of a lever rotating around a pivot” and “By extension, any influence which is compounded or used to gain an advantage.”
Most of us were probably first introduced to the concept of leverage as we explored the Teeter-Totter in our schoolyard or at our local recreational area. Initially, we played only with kids who were the same age – and weight class – and we were entirely content with the relationship of the board and the fulcrum being predetermined.
But, as we aged and started playing on the teeter-totter with children that were a bit older – and a little, or a lot, heavier – we rapidly discovered that if we could change the location of the weight (thus in effect changing the length of the lever relative to the fulcrum), we could easily lift children who weighed a lot more than we did.
When we merely re-use content, we go for effectively the same market segment and use essentially the same tools and media to reach them.
But, when we re-purpose the content, we change our focus to an alternate market segment, generally for a somewhat different market segment, and we may also modify the media as well. When we re-purpose content, we effectively alter the length of the lever and position of the pivot point.
Many internet marketing businesses sometimes hold live events of one sort or another; e.g., a workshop, seminar, training class, etc. Best practice suggests that we plan (from the beginning) to re-purpose available content and extend its value to a larger audience. In the example of the workshop, seminar, training class, etc., it would be a good idea to audiotape and/or videotape the event for subsequent distribution via audio or video files, CDs, DVDs, etc.
Re-purposing extends the benefits of leverage beyond simply re-using existing content – it extends our marketing efforts into additional market niches, thus increasing overall visibility of our products, and thus, increasing the bottom line.

What The sulumits retsambew Contest Has Brought To Light
by admin on Aug.16, 2009, under General
The sulumits retsambew contest has attracted the best of SEO talent from all across the world. Together on one platform the participants have vied for the top spot employing the best optimization techniques that they have up their sleeves. The contest was meant to bring new and innovative insight into the science of search engine optimization along the way, which it certainly has.
A number of things have been discovered about SEO during the length of this contest. There are some important things to understand. First of all optimizing your website for an SEO contest is different from optimizing your site for a particular market segment. Yes you will be targeting a particular set of keyword phrases in both cases but the methods you employ and the things that you factor in will vary.
This fact can be illustrated by exploring the relevancy of on site optimization in both cases. The SEO contest results thus far have revealed that on site optimization has not factored in to such a great extent in the contest. An example of an entry that has been doing quite well in the contest but seems to have a scattered presentation and is very reader unfriendly is sulumitsretsambew.biz. This does not mean that on site optimization is not useful or imperative for the contest, but this particular aspect has not been taken seriously by this particular contest entry and yet it is currently on the number three spot.
Similarly not much attention has been paid to website graphics, animations and aesthetics. However both these things factor in a great deal when it comes to running an online business. You need to have a website that is user friendly and appeals to your readers with the content as well as the layout and appearance. Some entries like sulumitsretsambewno.com have successfully managed to produce a good looking website that is backed up with strong SEO techniques. The entry is currently at the number four spot.
There are certain things that stand true for SEO contests as well as optimizing websites for online business. Foremost amongst them is the value of content. Content is still the king when it comes to search engine optimization and is quite likely to remain on its throne. High quality content is also the most effective way of gaining quality backlinks to your website which happens to be the most potent source of boosting your search engine rankings.
sulumits retsambew is an interesting keyword for the new SEO contest held by webmaster forum NetBuilders.org. Indeed a great initiative by Will Spencer and amazing spirit among participants. The contest worth keeping an eye as it’d end up revealing some great SEO techniques to rank up pretty quickly, fairly yet pleasing Google with a sound and safe marketing strategy. Cheers to all! Gain Leverage for Your Online Business by Re-Purposing Your Content
by admin on Jul.11, 2009, under General
Wikipedia says, leverage is “A force compounded by means of a lever rotating around a pivot” and “By extension, any influence which is compounded or used to gain an advantage.”
The majority of us were doubtless first introduced to the notion of leverage as we explored the wonders of the Teeter-Totter in our schoolyard or at our local recreational area. Initially, we played only with children in our same age group – and weight class – and we were entirely content with the lever and the pivot being predetermined.
However, as we aged and started playing on the teeter-totter with children that were a bit older – and a little, or a lot, heavier – we quickly learned that by changing how close to the pivot the other child sat (thus effectively changing the length of the lever relative to the pivot point), we could easily lift children who weighed a lot more than we did.
When we re-purpose content, we effectively alter the length of the lever and position of the pivot point.
When we simply re-use content, we target effectively the same market segment and use pretty much the same tools and media to reach them.
However, when we re-purpose the content, we modify our focus to a different use, usually for a different market niche, and we may well swap the media as well.
For example, a lot of internet marketing businesses sometimes conduct live events; e.g., a workshop, seminar, training class, etc.
Best practice suggests that we plan (from the beginning) to re-purpose available content and extend its value to a larger audience. In the example of the workshop, seminar, training class, etc., it would be to our advantage to audiotape and/or videotape the event for subsequent distribution via audio or video files, CDs, DVDs, etc.
Re-purposing adds another dimension to simply re-using existing content – it extends our marketing efforts into additional market segments, thus increasing overall visibility of our products and services, and ultimately increasing the bottom line.
