The first thing to comprehend is that the Internet is a medium of mass communication to literally hundreds of millions of people. Also, you must understand that it is now the primary method for people doing any kind of research, especially with respect to making purchasing decisions. Are bells going off in your head now? They should be!

Literally anyone, from the newbie just getting started to the most seasoned online marketer, can now enjoy the benefits of marketing to the masses for little to no cost, something that was previously only available to large corporations or people with a lot of money.

But before you go jump in with both feet, there is a key marketing principle you must embrace first. If you do so, you will see results nothing short of miraculous in your business. You probably will be hesitant to assume this role at first. I know I certainly was. You may ask yourself, “What knowledge do I have that I could offer others?” Another key concept your need to grasp here – being an “expert” for the purpose of attracting people to you means knowing slightly more about a topic than your prospect. Nothing more. Understand this too, if you do not give people a reason to follow you, they WILL follow someone else!

Get started now producing informational content on the Internet. How do you do this? Write and publish simple articles, make and publish short information videos to You Tube, start a blog, get your web site up and online. All of these methods are either free or very inexpensive nowadays. Start with simple content and information, even if it is only a few paragraphs or a quick video about a topic you know. Doing this is better than having a license to print money. Just one single piece of content can fuel your business with fresh leads and customers for months and even years after you produced and published it.

As you become more comfortable with publishing content on the Internet, your confidence will increase. Next, start to create more “advanced” levels of content. More advanced content will come as you grow your own expertise. Your “credibility ranking” will also increase which will further increase the number of people attracted to you. These people will become “bonded” to you a trusted consultant.

The last concept to understand, and a very powerful one, is “differentiation.” In all probability, you are or will be marketing a product or business opportunity that many other people market too. Learn to put a different spin on your content, specialize in a “niche,” or target a different audience. The secret of top earners is the way they package and distribute their information. Create the perception of a totally one-of-a-kind solution. People will clamor to buy from you, even when everyone else is selling the exact same product.
