A Free Platform to Promote Your Products – Squidoo For Newbies

Everyone talks about multiple streams of income, but not too many people talk about multiple marketing streams. I’ve come to believe that having multiple marketing streams is at least as important as having multiple streams of income.
But first, let me define what I’m talking about. Multiple marketing streams is a term I’ve just coined and it means using a variety of marketing tactics simultaneously to bring fresh leads into your business.
Not only you can have an unlimited amount of lenses on one account, but you can have as many accounts as you want as well. Some members have a great amount of accounts.
Why should you use Squidoo?
As internet marketers, especially when you are new and might not own a website yet, your “lens” can be your site. You can use a lens as a review page of your product and have up to 9 links on your page, in the form of a URL, anchor text or a picture of your product that will link your customers to the page where they can actually buy your product.
Okay so what are some of these marketing streams? Below is a list (although it’s far from an exhaustive list). Use it to brainstorm more ideas for you business but by all means, do NOT use it to overwhelm yourself. There’s no need to implement all of these at once. (And don’t forget, you CAN hire people to help you implement these tactics — it doesn’t have to be all you.)
In the end, the only factor that will determine your success with affiliate marketing is your desire to succeed and your willingness to follow through. If you have that desire and you take action, you WILL learn and you WILL succeed. There are no two ways about it

Today I would like to discuss something a lot of people have a hard time with – Keyword Effectiveness Index (or KEI for short) is a score that helps you determine keyword effectiveness when using PPC. How is it determined? Simply put, the KEI is a mathematical representation of the popularity of a keyword compared to its popularity measured as the number of pages in a search engines index. The lower the KEI, the more popular your keywords are, and the less competition they have. That means that you might have a better chance of getting to the top in the search engines and receive a good number of searchers for your effort.
Today might seem like a scary time to start your own business, however, the world of online ventures represents a relatively risk-free zone. When you consider that no one seems to be hiring right now and starting your own website requires very little capital, why wouldn’t it be the perfect moment? You would have job security, you could be your own boss and you would be entering an industry that is seemingly unaffected by the recession. In fact revenue in the online community is thriving at the moment.
Online businesses can be launched at a low investment rate. Hosting and maintenance costs are practically non-existent in many cases. Internet marketing, the device used to promote your website, can be had for a nominal fee as well. Sometimes you can even combine the two.
For example, blogging sites like Blogger and WordPress offer free service in addition to hosting capabilities. Other complimentary services include any one of the numerous online forums available throughout the internet or social networking sites like FaceBook, Twitter and MySpace.
But there is still more. Not only will you get more visitors but they are more likely to be the visitors that you want. Your links will be appearing in the corners of the internet where your potential customers congregate. The paradox is, by stepping back from your internet marketing, you actually achieve better targeting.
So based on the above two examples, you may want to focus on getting ranked for only the best keywords phrase since you probably could sell car seats from Amazon.com and make a decent commission. But then again, you may want to optimize for ‘child car seat safety rating’ simply because these people are looking for relevant information, and even though they are probably not in a ‘ready to buy’ mode as yet, these visitors may well return to your website in future to purchase a child car seat, if they are impressed with the quality of your website content.

But first, let me explain what I mean by high quality content. There are three dimensions:
# 1 – Remarkable: it’s not enough that I admire your website or agree with what you say, I need to have a reason to go and tell somebody else. This could because of the website design, humor, controversy, new information, original insights and so on.
# 2 – Specific: the content should speak directly to the target audience, addressing their specific requirements and using their language, so that an “awesome” product for a teen becomes an “excellent” product for their grandparent.
# 3 – Dynamic: fresh, new content gives people a reason to return and to view you as a progressive force.

If you have high quality content your new visitors will digg it, blog about it, comment on it and mention it in forums. Instead of you having to do the tedious and time-consuming work of generating backlinks, your volunteer army is doing it for you. Furthermore, your links are likely to have more weight from the perspective of search engine rankings and more credibility with potential customers.
Comparing ‘child car seat safety rating’ and ‘new child car seat’, it is pretty obvious that ‘new child car seat’ has a higher ‘commercial value’ i.e. someone searching with this keyword is likely looking for a product than ‘child car seat safety rating’.
Most internet businesses garner profit via online advertising sales. Thankfully that industry has yet to see a decline as well. That is probably because online advertising can be had at a comparatively low cost. It is less expensive than other forms of advertising such as billboards, television ads or newspaper supplements. As an added perk a company should know that it can reach just as many if not more targets than traditional forms of advertising.
