Using Keyword Phrases: Variation on a Theme

By now, you have heard of search engine optimization (SEO). It is the process of using keywords to draw targeted traffic to your website business. But what about keyword phrases? They can bring in even more lucrative traffic.
Keywords are used in content, webpage headlines and the like to gain interest from the major search engines. Once you register your website with them, their little soldiers (bots/spiders) go to work checking out what you have to offer. Use words that your customers will choose to search for your website; your content can then rank within the first page of results. This means that you will be the first link anyone sees for those words.
But, there are other ways to optimize besides just keywords. You can use keyword phrases. Nowadays, many keywords have become commonplace. Entering “chocolate” into a search engine, brings back millions of results. Someone can wade through the first ten pages (highly unlikely) and still not find exactly what they are looking for.
Now, they will try a different tactic. Instead of one word they will enter something like “chocolate peanut butter cookies.” This is definitely more specific. If you sell recipe books, it would be more beneficial to you to choose the latter phrase instead of just the former single keyword.
Importance of Keyword Phrases
If you have used any type of keyword tools, not only will you get keyword results but also phrases. It is harder to use phrases in an article and appear natural. But, you can use those targeted phrases in another way – create unique WebPages on your site.
Some people miss out on all that keyword optimization has to offer by simply listing all of their products on one or two pages. Let’s say that you sell cookbooks. Well, there are several different types of cookbooks: desserts, main dishes, appetizers, drinks and ethnic fare to name a few. You could have a link that says “Cookbooks” and links to that section of your shopping cart.
To make use of keyword phrases, though, you could also create a unique page for each keyword phrase. On the home page, include links to each page using that keyword phrase. You will get credit for the phrase appearing on the home page too. You can also pepper your content with the keyword phrases where appropriate and use it as anchor text for a link to the corresponding page on your website.
Keyword phrases are just as important as single keywords. Use them throughout your website to improve your search engine ranking.

You get a message with a link to an online greeting card but, when you click it, you end up with a virus on your PC. A couple of simple rules here. Delete any messages that come from someone you don’t know or that don’t address you by name. If they come from someone you know, email that person to check that they sent it before clicking the link.
Holiday rentals. 2009 has seen a surge in ads offering bogus vacation rentals. You pay a deposit or even in full to get a key and that’s the last you hear of them. Scammers are experts at creating phoney look-alike sites where you land after mistyping an address or by clicking on a link supplied in the e mail or ad. Always type in the URL and don’t just click on the link.

You can get products to sell via eBay or/and your website by using the services of a drop shipper. A reliable drop shipper will not ask you for a fee. They will allow you to copy pictures of the products they sell. Prices are about half you would pay for retail. If you have a website they will allow you to move any listing on their site to yours. You set your price on the product/s you transfer. When an order comes in place the order they will ship it out for you under your shipping label and not include any of their material. A good way to promote is join as an affiliate, transfer a couple specials onto your site, with a link back to your affiliate page. Do you find that you keep getting off point with your internet business? Have you made a few dollars online, but don’t know what you did to bring that money in? Then understanding the importance of developing a sound and fundamental marketing plan will be critical to your online success.
I read somewhere online that 90% of all internet marketers will fail or quit within the first year. Why is that? Internet marketing isn’t really hard to learn – but I think most people are misled when they read headlines like Make A Half A Million Over Night and when it doesn’t happen, they get discouraged.
Internet Marketing Is Not Rocket Science
It really isn’t – it’s about the exponential factor. If you take two cents ($.02) and double its exponent (2 x2 = 4, 4x 2= 8, 8×2 = 16) every day for thirty days at the end of 30 days you will have $10,737,418.24. That’s starting from 2 cents on the first day. The breaking point in this formula is basically half way through the month. This is exactly the way that internet marketing works — it’s all about the numbers.
Develop a Plan — and stick to it. Once you find something that works, keep doing that. Do it again and again, and again, only with different products and/or niche markets.
Stay on Target — the biggest problem most people have with internet marketing is that they don’t stay on target. They get distracted and working online can be one of the most distracting things I’ve ever dealt with.
Choose a Methodology — and conquer it. Whether it be pay-per-click advertising (not recommended for small pocketbooks or the new person starting out on the web) – pay-per-action, the bum marketing method (article marketing) or niche websites – to name a few – whatever method you choose – stick to it until you know the ins and outs of it and can do it in your sleep.
Stay with What Works — you don’t have to reinvent the wheel – you really don’t Stay with what works until you’ve got a concrete program going. Don’t switch up mid stream – if you want to play with a new approach, play outside of your regular marketing program.
Be Consistent – don’t stop what you’re doing – keep at it and you will continue to build momentum. The idea is to reach that exponential mark that continues to bring in an steady income for you.
Be Honest and Fair — and don’t take things to personally – keep yourself out of your business and keep your emotions out of it too. If you stay honest and fair in all your dealings online this will follow you where ever you go.
Develop a work schedule – that works for you and continue to build on this until you’ve got something happening for you continuously. Until you get your program going, it will more than likely take a lot of work up front.
Realize That It Takes Work — understand that just thinking about what you want to be doing but not putting action behind those thoughts won’t get you off the ground. In order to fly, you have to build that airplane, take it for a test drive and then maintain it to keep it working for you.
I know how frustrating it can be, because I’ve been there myself – but it doesn’t have to be if you can develop a sound and fundamental marketing plan for yourself. If you don’t think this is something you can do or you are too confused about it and you have a few dollars to spend, I know someone who took copious notes when she first went online and created a plan that not only makes her money, but also makes money for all of those who use it.
