Blogs are more conversational by design than are websites, even though they may be in direct competition to each other. Bloggers like to regularly update their content with any current news, event, or articles. You will also see bloggers talk about other blogs by either referring to what someone else says, or by expanding on that particular topic. Experience bloggers do this because they are in search of new content, so if you are linked to a good blogger, they should and will most likely link back to you. If are a brand new blogger, experienced bloggers are carefully looking at their reference statistics and determining the value of your blog’s content. If they think your blog’s content is good and sees regular updates, they will link back to you either in a new post or a comment back. They will refer only those blogs or internet sites that are sending a lot of traffic to their sites. Also, since you are new there is no harm in clicking back through their blogs. This could help with your Google rankings because high quality sites link to each other, and Google likes this. But, this like everything else in life, doesn’t last forever, so you will want to move quickly with this step! 2. The second way to link and get their attention so they link back to you , is to create and add a “favorites” link section on your blog that links back to your favorite sites or articles. Even though this will take visitors away from your site, visitors are always wanting and searching for good content. If you take the initiative to provide this avenue for new content, your visitors will come to trust the content on your blog and will be more likely to return for future updates. 3. The 3rd way is to create a link exchange section – meaning, link to sites that are linked back to you. There are blog software programs that will do this for you. This software will often list those sites as “referrers” to you, attracting those new visitors that you are trying to reach or tap in to. If you follow the steps listed you can this could really help you in accomplishing your goal of having more “established” blogs linking back to you. Now remember, you are not here to sell them but rather to provide or share good content; and if you do that your visitors are more likely to come back to you over and over again.
