Get gov links and edu links or to buy text links? Which is better?

Are you planning to buy text links, here’s some vital information for you. You already know that search engine crawlers collect information from every website they crawl through. Search engines of course then use this data – each utilizing their own proprietary algorithm – to rank websites. And most know that a link from a high pagerank website is valued higher than the one from the low ranking site. Also, the value of links from authority sites is also very high. It appears quite obvious to most that links from .edu or .gov sites are very valuable in the sight of search engines as these domains are considered as the most trusted sites. Also considered highly valuable and carrying much “link juice” are backlinks from high PageRank websites.

Almost all experts in the SEO community agree that edu links and gov links are better to get than links from other domain extensions. Many acknowledge that edu links and gov links have a more value than other links from websites with .com, .net, and .org domain extensions – even if the search engines will not admit it – can you blame them…would YOU give away your secret recipe. In fact, you can test this for yourself. Pick two of your websites that have equal ranks, buy or get text links from regular websites to one site and get edu links to the other one. Then go back and have a look at the result after a while. The results will show the website with edu backlinks has higher ranking positions in the test results. A better test would be to look at websites that currently have a large amount of edu links and gov links that are often ranked within the top ten rankings of the search results. This in spite of the site’s relative obscurity! This reveals the strength of gov links and edu links.

Also, there appears to be a difference in link value if you compare the value of links obtained from the website of a new university and the one that has existed for much longer. If you get edu links from a university that is well respected and has huge amount of backlinks with loads of information and thousands of hits per hour, you are investing in the right place!
