The Key Elements To Starting An Online Business – Niche Research Tools

The 3 key elements to starting an online business are learning how to use niche research tools, keyword research tools and planning. Have you been going broke purchasing the newest greatest research tools? Have you defined the most profitable website concept for your online business? Have you created a site blueprint on which to build your business?
Building an online business is not an overnight sensation. It takes time, patience and research. If you possess these qualities and are serious; then the following free research tools will help you achieve your dreams and aspirations.
When you learn how to use Google’s niche research tools and keyword research tools you’ll have a jump on the competition within your niche and find your content ranking highly in the search engine result pages.
One of the most unforgettable moments in your online business will be finding your keyword phrase and website ranked on page one in Google. It was for me; and I still get excited when I find my content ranked highly in the search results.
Unless you already have an idea or business that you plan on promoting the best place to start is by checking out Google’s trends to see what people are searching for most today. This is not the most popular searches – its a record of whats hot today.
I’d start out by setting up a spread sheet and naming it something memorable like:
Niche Research Tools Results.
Make notes on topics that you are familiar with and are passionate about. All you’re doing right now is defining some niches that you find appealing. If you find some niches of interest in the trends add them to your list.
Once you’ve built a list of half dozen or a dozen potential niches log into Google and do a search for each keyword or keyword phrase. This is where I’m going to show you one of the coolest niche research tools.
For demonstration purposes lets pick the niche keyword computer repair. Log in to Google, type computer repair in the search box and click Google Search.
Now click the options tab in the upper left corner.
And here’s Google’s niche research tools cool wonder wheel. Click on wonder wheel now.
Notice how the main keyword/niche is the hub of the wheel and there are 8 spokes connected to the wheel. These are more great keywords that you may want to use in your website or blog. In this demonstration and research exercise Computer Repair is the main theme.
The spokes represent sub topics or future tiers/pages. If any of these keywords appeal to you for your site add them to a new column in your niche research tools spreadsheet. Sometimes you may find a keyword phrase from one of the spokes that interest you even more than your main theme. Possibly it would make a better niche. Add it to your first list and repeat the process.
The wonder wheel will dig even deeper into this potential niche by simply clicking one of the spokes for a new wheel. The wonder wheel does not narrow down the keyword popularity. It is only a tool for finding more related keywords to the main search term.
Next go back to your niche research tools spreadsheet and do a Google search for each keyword phrase wrapped in quotes. In the upper right hand side of the page will be a number representing the search volume for that keyword phrase as a direct match.
Start a new column in your spreadsheet and record the results for each keyword phrase. Now add each keyword phrase into Google’s Keyword Tool. Observe the search volume for each keyword and if you find more keywords that are related to your niche that interest you add them to your list. Be sure to check the search volume on these words too.
The final step would be to figure out who your real competition is. You can find that information by reading my article on keyword popularity research.
The goal in using niche research tools is to find keywords that are high in demand ( search volume) and low in supply.
You now should have a nice list of potential niche keywords, sub keywords ( tier 2 pages) and the information needed to weed and prune your list leaving you with a website blueprint.
All that’s left for you to do is start writing keyword focused content and who knows you may find your content listed number one in Google as early as next week.
Building an online business is a process. Keyword research and niche research are essential steps that you need to take. The time you spend now will pay huge dividends down the road.

And then there is Twitter, the new craze that has wings flapping and fingers strumming keyboards all across the globe. For searching Tweets, there is Twist. Twist was actually launched in 2008, but not everyone has caught on to the benefits of Twitter tools for business just yet. What Twist does is similar to Lexicon, but for the Twitter site only. Twist finds all mentions of your specified terms in messages and graphs them over time. Using Twist, you can even click on any specific term and go directly to recent Tweets for that phrase.
Using Twist, you can compare terms against one another. For instance, let’s take the pizza business again. Comparing pizza to burgers, you will find that pizza wins out every time as far as mentions go. From this data, you could draw the conclusion that the pizza business would fair better than a burger joint.
Now, you are most likely not selling pizza or burgers, I know; but examples are what they are. The main point of these applications is to help you see what the general public’s awareness is on any given topic. When your focus is to build your business, it is the voice of the general public that matters the most; and therefore utilizing social media sites and their tools will do the best job of telling you what you need to know.

Do you want the bad news about starting a new online business first, or the good news? The bad news is that you have a great deal to learn. The good news is that it’s fun and that much of the basic information can be found inexpensively or even free. The bad news is that many of the sites that you will come across are scams (at worst) or not credible. The good news is that you’ll be able to tell the difference sooner than you think.
One sensible way to start your e-business education is to find a reputable course with the fundamentals of starting online. As long as you are diligent in following the lessons and applying what you learn as you go, that will get you well on your way toward distinguishing between the scams and the legitimate offers, between the metaphorical wheat and the chaff.
You will discover that the reality of starting your business will fall somewhere between the extremes of the unscrupulous types who tell you that you can work half an hour per week in your pajamas and retire in a year and the other extreme of thinking it is an impossible task, as you may be thinking now. Yes, you’ll need to get organized. You must structure your time efficiently, and don’t forget about life’s priorities along the way (like family, your ethical standards and enjoying what you do).
Browse related topics (those you learned about in your short, hopefully free, course) on article directories, like A1Articles.com or EzineArticles.com. Consult blogs that you deem to be trustworthy. Find information about keyword research, business niche selection, design of online business sites and other such related topics.
Don’t rush out to buy anything, yet. The next step is to sit down with some paper and pencil. From the list of things that need to be done in starting your business, decide what you find interesting and and what sounds so boring that you would rather outsource the tasks. Don’t worry, you can learn to do anything on that list. Simply decide whether you want to invest your available funds in learning resources or in labor to actually perform each task.
Now it’s time to spend money. If you find yourself tempted to buy an instructional product that you find, say a course on affiliate marketing or a set of videos about search engine optimization, hit your pause button. Instead of following your impulse to buy now, do these: 1) Add the web page to your favorites list so that you know you can find your way back to it later. 2) Put on a pair of “critic’s glasses.” Analyze the structure of the sales page that you found so convincing. At some point in the not too distant future, you want to become a copywriter as skilled as the one that had you reaching for your wallet. Then, find a lot more products in the same category, so that you can later compare the alternatives.
I impose a mandatory three day waiting period before I buy something I’ve just found. That gives me time to consider it rationally, removing myself from the emotional responses elicited by the well presented offer. If I still think that I have found the best solution for my needs after that three day period, I use the bookmark to find the right page, buy the product and get to work absorbing the material.
Beware! Buying can make you feel good, but your new purchase does you no good unless you use it, and using it means implementing the strategies that you learn about or the procedures for which the software was designed. In other words, you must act!

Let’s begin by checking out the web sites, publications, and periodicals that others are reading and shopping for. A great place to begin is Amazon.com.
This is like a giant library of information just waiting for you to take advantage of. You will be amazed when you begin to gather ideas as easily as thumbing through your favorite magazine.
You will have only spent a few moments on Amazon, and have so many ideas, you won’t know which one to use first for your niche market blog.

The first place you want to go is to look at the magazine and newspapers offered on Amazon.
Once you are in this area, look to the left side of the page and you will see a long list of categories. You will find unlimited amounts of ideas for your niche blogging here.

A place to start are the topics that interest you. If there is something that you find interesting, you will find it easy to write about. You want to get a topic that you will enjoy researching, and your knowledge and enthusiasm will show in your writing. Wait till later for the more difficult topics, after you are more of an expert in niche market blogging.
Start small; don’t go up against the big guys that are in the giant niches like fitness and weight loss. You may want to maintain the smaller niches where you will most likely have lesser competition. Leave the greater niches to the experts. You will find some great success in these smaller areas.

As you peruse the magazine subscriptions, look to see how often they are sold and are published. A once a year magazine means they do not have much of a large audience . After you have made up your mind about a niche idea, take the topic and place it on Google and search for any news or articles related to taht topic. You can come up with some interesting news or articles on your particular subject.

As you noticed, there are several ways to get niche ideas for effective blogging, and this is just only one of the several. Go for what you love, what interests you, not only will you have a lot more information to work with, but you will thoroughly enjoy the entire process. You may wonder if you are even working at all.
