Getting an eternal bestseller credential and attracting more clients can actually be achieved quicker and easier says book business expert DrProactive Randy Gilbert, if you “slow down and take some time to create a bestselling business around your book”. DrProactive says you will end up with a higher profits, an outstanding book, and a passive income that far exceeds what the book alone would have earned.
It can make you a bestselling author, and a millionaire at the same time, which is why DrProactive named “bestselling business”. Getting busy and starting to write and market a book that has a business built as an integral part of it, is crucial.
There are a number of components that can help market your book successfully, no matter what its subject. Some features are absolutely necessary if you want to sell enough books to make it a bestseller. Everyone knows that in order for your book to be sold in retail stores, it must have an EAN barcode, an ISBN number, and certain bindings and features.
However, if you add certain less well known features to your book, you will hugely expand your book’s marketability. Did you know that there are a few common features in almost every New York Times bestseller? You can take advantage of the marketing research of the giant publishing houses to help your own book sell more copies.
Below are 7 of the top book features that will make your book much easier to market and promote to bestseller status. When you design these features into your book (right from the beginning), you will market your book faster and better than other authors who fail to do so.
Feature 1 – Start with a powerful theme and grow it. {Give your book a zesty title that grabs attention}. Outline your book and be specific with what you want in it so you attract the right people. Just gathering a list of your best ideas and putting a cover on it is not enough. You may get a book written quickly, but it probably won’t sell very well. You need a book that you and others will be excited to market.
Feature 2 – Get stories from people other than yourself and you will be viewed as the expert of experts. Ask people to share a personal story in such a way that it has a self-help element. You’ll reach many more people with stories that teach the reader how to apply a lesson to their own problem than just a dry list of instructions. In every story, you should mix in Important resources, specific examples, strategies, tips, and insider secrets, whether they be from you or someone else.
Feature 3 – Quote lots of experts and you’ll build in promotional value. Each quote should be selected to fit in the topic and message of that chapter. Consider using quotes from “live” people who might be flattered enough so that they tell others to buy it and help with promoting your book to their customer list. They may even purchase books directly for their special clients and colleagues.
Feature 4 – Be proactive in asking for interviews and testimonials, and selecting a great person to write the Foreword of your book. Use interviews with experts to get topical examples for your chapters of the book, and get audio or video clips to use for promoting. These interviews and testimonials will add credibility to your book.
Feature 5 – List all of the people and organizations who helped in creating the book. You might also seek a corporate sponsor who might fund some of the expenses in exchange for a prominent mention in the book. Finding a partner to sponsor you in your book promotion is often very beneficial.
Feature 6 – Add an index so that your book is easier to read and use. This feature will make your book much easier to sell to libraries which will enlarge your readership and help you draw more customers to your website. Yet this feature is often forgotten in the book writing process.
Feature 7 – Create a resource section with a topical rolodex. List numerous agencies, organizations, associations, services, and other professionals related to your book’s subject. This feature will help increase your audience, and give those listed in the rolodex a reason to help you distribute and promote the book.
Extra Feature – Have a bibliography in your book. Many people want to buy copies of books that reference their own book in a bibliography. Also, it makes your book more attractive those doing research. Be sure to include the books from any experts who contributed stories, interviews, or examples.
ACTION STEP:
The more features above you can add to your book, the easier it will be to market and promote. Put emphasis on the features that cause other people to want to help promote the book for their own sake. This makes the Law of Reciprocity work for your benefit because as they are helping themselves, they are also helping you, and vice versa.
If you need help to learn how to get a book marketed so that it makes money and becomes a bestseller, then you must follow the recipe that others use to successfully achieve that goal. Make a decision to use the Key Factors outlined above and keep your eye on the ball, and you’ll hit a home run every time.

Discover How to Work Only 4 Hours Per Week while Living Like a King!
by admin on Oct.18, 2009, under General
Serial Entrepreneur & Ultravagabond
Timothy Ferriss, author of the 4 Hour Work Week, is a self-described “serial entrepreneur and ultravagabond” who lives a lifestyle that most of us could only dream about — until now.
Ferriss presents a step-by-step guide to his free-wheeling lifestyle, allowing us to follow in his footsteps and realize lifelong dreams. Some people consider him to be heroic, like an “Indiana Jones for the digital age”.
This challenging book has been a #1 Wall Street Journal Best Seller, a #1 NY Times Best Seller, and a #1 BusinessWeek Bestseller.
Replace Obsolete Assumptions
His basic premise is that we need to replace many, if not most, of our current assumptions and apply what he calls the “Rules of the New Rich”.
Outdated assumptions limit us and prevent us from enjoying life now. In particular, we need to replace assumptions that waste our time and force us to live in a particular location. We’d like to be able to manage our businesses from anywhere, anytime.
We need to value our time and our mobility as we learn to join the ranks of the New Rich (NR).
Rules of the New Rich
According to Ferris, the “Rules of the New Rich” include the following:
- Retirement is Worst-Case Scenario Insurance
- Interest and Energy are Cyclical
- Less is Not Laziness
- The Timing Is Never Right
- Ask for Forgiveness, Not Permission
- Emphasize Strengths, Don’t Fix Weaknesses
- Things in Excess Become the Opposite
- Money Alone is Not the Solution
- Relative Income is More Important than Absolute Income
- Distress is Bad, Eustress is Good
The 4HWW Model
His model provides us with a roadmap for realizing our own lifelong dreams. He shows us how to:
- Live like a millionaire
- Free time and automate income
- Outsource our lives to overseas virtual assistants for $5/hour
- Travel the world without quitting our jobs
- Eliminate 50% of our work in 48 hours
- Trade a long-haul career for short work bursts and mini-retirements
He uses the DEAL acronym to describe his model, where:
- D = Definition
- E = Elimination
- A = Automation
- L = Liberation
He encourages us to use “Dreamlining” to design our own luxurious lifestyles. Elimination, simplification, and outsourcing to virtual assistants are the building blocks to a luxurious lifestyle among the New Rich (NR).
This is an art and a science we will refer to as Lifestyle Design (LD). Automation is another key component of the Lifestyle Design (LD) process, i.e., building systems and processes that eliminate ourselves as bottlenecks. Don’t automate anything that should be eliminated, and don’t delegate anything that should be automated or simplified.
Carpe Diem!
Use these guidelines to recognize opportunities and sieze them – Carpe Diem. Having options; i.e., our choice is our real power.
Personally, I love the idea of creating a 4-Hour Workweek for myself.
Our courage and self-confidence, we can realize our dreams quicker and easier than we ever expected. I plan to implement many of his ideas into my own life.
