Raymond Aaron and Internet Marketing Success

A New York Times top 10 bestselling author, Raymond Aaron has a thriving business. When he gives you success tips, you should listen. At the heart of Mr. Aaron’s program is a goal-making system that he sums up with three letters: MTO, which represent: Minimum, Target, and Outrageous.

Here’s a quick overview of the system, but reaching its fullest potential requires a lot more space than available here. After a rundown of the system, we’ll discuss how it applies to Internet marketing:

Minimum

This is the bare minimum, as the name suggests, that you want think you can accomplish with your goal. For example, if you want to train to run a marathon, and you’re not exactly an athlete, a minimum goal would be something like running 2 miles in a week. Considering that at a casual jog, the average person can cover a mile in about twelve minutes or so, it’s definitely not asking too much to devote a total 24 minutes to running over the course of a week. This way, it’s almost impossible not to hit your minimum objective, and you feel good about accomplishing something.

Target

As the name implies, this is the number that you’d like to accomplish. Following the marathon example above, the Target may be 4 miles in a week. Once you hit your minimum (which, because of how little it is, you’ll probably have done by the third day of the week or so), you start working on your target. By this point, you’re feeling good about your progress, so running another mile or two doesn’t seem all that bad and it’s pretty easy to do.

Outrageous

Again, this level is well named. Let’s consider the Outrageous level to be 6 miles a week. If you finish your Minimum by day three, and your target by day five, then that leaves two days to squeeze in two measly little miles of running, a mere 24 minutes. That can’t be too hard to fit in, can it?

By this point, you’ve probably already figured out a few ways to apply this to your Internet marketing business. Keyword research, when broken down into the MTO system seems a much easier task doesn’t it?The same applies to penetrating a new niche. And, since Internet marketing efforts are easily quantifiable in numbers (traffic stats, conversion rates, etc.), you can easily apply the MTO system to expanding your business.
