Internet Marketing Articles: Writing Articles that Sell

Many people write internet marketing articles to promote their products and services. Article marketing is one of the best ways to reach a large audience for free. When you write an internet marketing article, there are certain things that you should include in your article to make it more effective.
- Write an internet marketing article on a topic related to a product that you are promoting. For example, if you are promoting a keyword tool, you might make your subject about search engine optimization. You will later on explain the benefits of the keyword tool for search engine optimization.
- The article should not sound like a sales pitch. If you start selling your product from the start, you will probably lose your reader right away. At the end of the article, usually in your resource box, you promote your product.
- The article has to capture the attention of the reader from the start, and be able to keep his attention. It has to be well written and interesting enough that your reader will not leave until the end.
- Make short paragraphs to keep the attention of the reader. Long paragraphs that seem to go on forever will make your reader want to leave your page.
- Insert bullets, numbering and headings to break up your article and make it look more interesting.
- Write in plain everyday language. If you use intricate words it will make your article hard to read and the reader will probably lose interest.
- The purpose of internet marketing articles is to provide information that people are seeking. Bring value and content to your readers. This will not only keep them interested, it will also build your reputation as a serious internet marketer.
- Always write about a topic that you know. Your reader will be able to see right through you if you are just writing fluff. If you need to do research, you can go to Google or to an article directory and read some of the articles on your subject matter to get ideas.
- Never copy what someone else has written and present it as your own. This is called plagiarism and is illegal. Just get ideas and put them in your own words.
- Talk about an issue that is common in your niche, or your targeted audience. Let your reader understand that you are familiar with the problem and can offer some expertise.
- Do not boast, but speak with authority, as you do want to set yourself up as an expert, who can offer solutions. Offer as much free information as you can give. This is the best way to attract people.
- At the end of your article, mention what your product can do, but leave the reader interested in finding out more. Give enough of a solution that the reader will feel that he needs to get more. This will lead your reader to click on your link, taking him to your salespage or capture page for your specific product.
- Your finished article should be between 500 to 750 words. That is long enough to have good content, but short enough to hold your readers’ attention.
- Always spell check your internet marketing articles. It turns people off to see spelling and grammatical errors. Also read it to yourself a few times and tweak it. You might find that changing some paragraphs around makes more sense and flows better.
Writing internet marketing articles is an art, which can be very profitable if executed properly. These articles produce very targeted traffic, as you are speaking directly about a specific problem and offering a specific solution.
When you have finished your internet marketing articles, it’s time to get traffic. To get the desired traffic, it is important to publish your articles in article directories, ezines and social bookmarking sites. Here the search engines will find your articles and publish them online.
